Deacon for Worship – Andrew Prosser

andyAndy joined Somersham Baptist Church in 2009 with his family having moved from Southampton where he was involved with the worship team at Millbrook Christian Centre. Andy has worked to progress the ministry of the church particularly through the use of art and music. Somersham Baptist Church has a significant number of musical members which are encouraged to develop musically and spiritually together through effective praise and worship.

Deacon for Mission – Richard Blackhurst

Richard PicRichard is married with two children and his main profession is farming. He grows oilseed rape, wheat, and onions for Asda and Morrisons. He was converted dramatically on 27th Nov 1997 at 10.30 pm. His main passion is making God accessible to the working man and ensuring church is not a scary experience for the novice. He is a keen preacher, and is currently on a 6 year bible course at Spurgeons’ bible college.



Deacon for Administration – Pete Driscoll

PeteDriscoll smallPete joined Somersham Baptist church in May 2010 after moving into the village from North East London. He is married to Brenda and they have two grown up children and two grandchildren.
He was a member of his previous Church, in Chingford, for twenty years and was in leadership for 17 years of which he was Church Secretary for 15 years.
He enjoys reading, jogging and supporting Tottenham Hotspur football club.
His desire is to see people becoming Christians through faith in Jesus.

Deacon for Discipleship - Kim Downes

Kim joined Somersham Baptist Church in September 2012.  She is married to Chris; together they live with her youngest daughter in a 200 year old cottage in Chatteris, with a beautiful ‘secret’ garden!  Kim is passionate about her personal relationship with Jesus, and delights in encouraging others (of all ages!) in their journey of Christian faith.  She loves to worship God and regularly sings with the worship band.  She is a bubbly, caring & loving “people person” and is most happy when in her garden, being by the seaside or making cakes!
